Embracing a Toddler's Wisdom
— Life — 1 min read
Observing toddlers navigate their world is a fascinating glimpse into their innate understanding of the environment. Recently, on a chilly winter day, my toddler took his small chairs outside onto the balcony to sit in the sunlight. After a few minutes, he promptly picked up both chairs and marched back inside, declaring, "Cold!" It struck me as amusing and incredibly insightful. Despite their limited vocabulary they could discern the discomfort caused by the cold.
This simple incident made me think how we, as adults, might benefit from these primal instincts. When a situation feels off—whether it's too cold, too hot, or uncomfortable—our first reaction, much like that of my toddler we should seek a solution or change of course.
In a world filled with plans and schedules, we sometimes forget to listen to our instincts. We plow ahead, adhering rigidly to our arrangements, often overlooking the signals our environment sends us. Yet, my toddler's quick action in response to the cold illustrates the beauty of adaptability.
When things don't feel right or the plan doesn't align with the current situation, it might just be the universe nudging us to reconsider. Instead of forging ahead against discomfort, let's embrace the wisdom of adaptation and solution-seeking.
